This text may be used with any edition of the novel, although it is keyed to "The Call of the Wild: Annotated and Illustrated", also announced for spring 1997. Dyer's instructional ideas on "The Call of the Wild" should stimulate exploration of subjects such as California and Klondike history and geography, gold mining techniques, and dog breeds, as well as the novel's great literary themes.
