Wilkie Collins (1824-1889) was a prominent Victorian novelist and the leading mystery writer of his time. His best known works are The Woman in White (1860) and The Moonstone (1867).

Rob Warden is executive director of the Center on Wrongful Convictions, Bluhm Legal Clinic, Northwestern University School of Law. An award-winning legal affairs journalist, he is the co-author with David Protess of A Promise of Justice (Hyperion, 1998) and Gone in the Night (Dell, 1995) and was inducted into the Chicago Journalism Hall of Fame in 2004.

Scott Turow is a lawyer and author based in Chicago.
