He is best known for his Blue Dog images, paintings and prints which are widely collected and have catapulted him to worldwide fame in the mid-1980s. Rodrigue has exhibited his work internationally and maintains galleries of his own in New Orleans, LA; Carmel, CA and Aspen, CO.
