Citizenship and the State in the Middle East introduces a pioneering approach to politics in the Middle East by analyzing key factors in the constitution of political communities and collective identities in terms of citizenship. As a response to processes of globalization, regional integration and ethnic conflicts, the study of citizenship has regained new interest among social scientists and legal experts.
