Elaborating from a series of lectures he delivered at the University of California-Berkeley in the spring semester of 1964, Wolf describes classification problems in the theory of spaces of constant curvature and the theory of symmetric spaces. Readers are assumed to be familiar with advanced calculus, point set topology, linear algebra, and elementary group theory. He has added new material to incorporate developments since the 1984 fifth edition. The sections cover Riemannian geometry, the Euclidean space form problem, the spherical space form problem, space form problems on symmetric spaces, and space form problems on indefinite metric manifolds.
