The second edition features a new chapter dedicated to fault locating that presents calculations using symmetrical components to evaluate circuit breaker interrupting capability and bus withstand capability. Another new chapter addresses decaying AC and DC current and examines the impact on bus withstand capability and circuit breaker interrupting capability. The revised text also includes additional calculations routinely developed when determining protective relay settings as well as directional relay applications.
