L'autore
Joan Allen has published essays on Chartism and the Co-operative Movement and lectures on modern British history at the University of Newcastle. Owen R. Ashton is the coauthor of Friends of the People and editor of The Chartist Legacy. He is a professor of modern British social history at the Staffordshire University.
