This annual publication includes a wide range of feature articles devoted to the design, development and service history of the world's fighting ships. Amongst the highlights for 1995 is an article by Keith McBride on the development of the Dreadnought up to 1914, and an analysis of its significance and fighting power at that date. G.L. Moore looks at the 1950s design for the unbuilt type-42 frigate, while postwar Canadian aviation is described by T.D. Lynch. Other articles cover a range of subjects which includ fire control, German World War II auxiliaries and French cruisers. The section at the end of the main feature articles, entitled "Naval notes", is devoted to the backwaters of warship history, while the "Navy Year in Review" is a summary of the important events and developments that have taken place in the preceding year. John Roberts is the author and illustrator of the "Conway's Anatomy of the Ship" series of books, "Hood", "Intrepid" and "Dreadnought".
