The "Phonological Screening Assessment" has been designed to give the clinician a quick, interesting and effective method of gaining a sample of speech sounds while also providing the child with active participation. It provides an accurate and comprehensive overview of a child's phonological difficulties and is intended as an initial screening tool. It contains 32 colour picture cards which can be used according to the needs of the individual; the stimulus items have been chosen from the 100 most common words for a child to acquire, or found in the Makaton Core Vocabulary. All test items are also contained within the Rebus symbol collection.  The photographs used in this test have successfully trialled with children. It is suitable for all ages from pre-school child to adult, including those with learning difficulties. Tests phonological difficulties. Testing time is from 10 to 15 minutes; and a photocopiable record and analysis form and photocopiable templates of the colour items in black-and-white drawing format are included.
