Descrizione libro Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good Minus. Rare copy of this book with its dust jacket. The book is in excellent condition. You can see the covers in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. The brown lettering on the front and spine is very bright and free of wear. The cover edges and corners are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The page edges are very clean. The binding of the book is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in exceptional condition. The pages are very clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm also not finding any creasing. And there are no markings, no attachments, and no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. The front cover is in terrific shape, very clean, the only wear a speck of a scuff near its bottom corner. The spine is in solid shape with just a thin scuff off its bottom edge and a few thin bits of scuffing along the edge it shares with the rear cover. The reason for the 'Minus' in the Very Good condition rating is the smooth surface scratch or discoloration on the rear cover (third photo). There are also a couple of a small scuffs on the rear cover. The flaps are in excellent condition, very clean, no wear. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. I've always had it in a fitted protective cover. From the jacket: 'At the beginning of his career, America's leading philosopher of Judaism wrote this remarkable little book which was issued originally in a limited edition. Here Dr. Mordecai M. Kaplan sets forth many of the basic principles and concerns which were later developed in his monumental Judaism As A Civilization. While seeking to reformulate 'The Meaning of Torah' in modern terms, he pleads for the revitalization of Jewish home life, the intensification of Jewish education, and the strengthening of the bonds between the Jews of the world and the Jews in the Land of Israel. As a professor of the Jewish Theological Seminary and founder of its Teacher's Institute, as founder of the Society for the Advancement of Judaism and of the Jewish Reconstructionist Foundation, as originator of the 'Jewish Center' and of the 'Bat Mitzvah' ceremony, Rabbi Kaplan has shaped the course of American Jewish history.'.
