9780879308377: Django Reinhardt - Know the Man, Play the Music Book/CD (Hardcover) (Fretmaster)

Launching the new Fretmaster series, this book is part biography and part teaching guide. It goes inside the story of the accident in which Django Reinhardt lost the full use of his left hand and provides in-depth analysis of this artist's technique, tone, and harmonic approach. The accompanying CD includes eight of Reinhardt’s classic original recordings as well as newly recorded backing tracks without lead guitar for perfect practice sessions. Django Reinhardt allows guitarists to get closer than ever to the bewitching, addictive, and at times bewildering technique of this guitar great.

This portion of Django Style examines the construction of this legendary guitar as well as its influence on Reinhardt s tone and playing style. The style At the heart of the book is this exhaustive analysis of the great man s technique, tone, and harmonic approach. Just how did he do it with only two fingers?
