Tear at gutter inside spine; board still firmly attached (see picture). One page with chips at bottom corner noted. Dust jacket with chips and small tears; small loss at top back. Merle S. Evans(1891 1987) was the legendary band conductor for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus for fifty years (1919-1969). Originally a cornet player from Columbus, Kansas, he became known as the "Toscaniniof the Big Top." Evans was inducted into theAmerican Bandmasters Associationin 1947 and theInternational Circus Hall of Famein 1975. He died in 1987 in Sarasota, Florida. Codice articolo 11196
