Recensione:
'Great job Stuart, and I don t mean myself! Mr Clayton has written a fine book dealing with the many varied techniques of slappin that bass, I picked up some new stuff myself!' --Stu Hamm
"This is an absolutely fantastic book. Over the 30 years I've been playing bass, I've bought a number of books on the slap bass style and this is LIGHT YEARS ahead of any of them. It starts out with the simple stuff but doesn't dwell on it for too long; it immediately begins to introduce musical examples which allow slap bass novices to see how to apply the concepts. The book goes through all the techniques applicable to "normal" slap bass and in later chapters introduces some of the more contemporary techniques such as double-thumping. All this is accompanied by two CDs of recorded examples which are a joy to play along with. Like all Stuart's other books this one is excellent, indeed, it's probably his best work yet. If you're looking to learn slap bass, this is the only book you'll ever need". --Mr N.M/ Ramsey
"Got my copy of Ultimate Slap Bass today. Brilliant book. The examples and exercises are really musical and well thought out. Not only that but you really explain the theory and ideas behind slap bass playing as well. I think you've probably written the definitive slap bass book. I only wish a book like this was available when I was 17 and not 37!" --John Slade
