The part played by the Dutch and Belgian troops at Waterloo is described in this detailed new book. Drawn from both contemporary and modern printed sources, it contains a wealth of material written by officers and men who served within the Allied army commanded by the Duke of Wellington, which has been translated into English. The letters and reports provide significant new information on aspects of the campaign, with the role of Netherlands cavalry at Les Quatre Bras, and the extent of their involvement during the battle of Waterloo, being a feature. The content also confirms the deployment of the sizeable detachment stationed at Hal under the command of Prince Frederik, as well as the panic which affected Brussels and Ghent. The text is supplemented by colour maps and ten pages of colour illustrations by Gerry Embleton, thereby ensuring the book is an ideal companion to the first volume.
