Sallie Lowenstein got an early start on adventure when at 8 years old, she traveled around the world on prop planes through 17 Asian and European nations. By the age of 10 she had ridden on elephants, seen the Taj Mahal by moonlight, picker her way through the ruins of the Parthenon and walked in deserted sandstone cities. Her experiences color her books, paintings, sculptures, illustrations and her outlook on life.
