Involve the whole church in a creative visual Bible study depicting Old Testament characters and events. As part of the VALUable Bible Tools line of products, the goal is to show how valuable these men and women were to God, as well as noting their personal values, abilities, and sometimes lack of abilities to meet the challenges that God presented. Using historical research, humor and creativity, each play can stand alone as an individual play, or it can flow naturally into the next historical event. They are meant to be a fun way to experience God’s Word for both the actors and audiences. VALUable Bible Plays Book 2 includes David, Jonah, Elijah, Elisha,Nehemiah, Esther, Daniel, Shadrach, Mechach & Abednego. With God’s Word being presented in such a viable, fun and loving capacity, it would be impossible for there to be an unsuccessful practice or performance. In fact, script- line flow will encourage memorization, and “emergency” (forgetting the script- line) ad-libbing will not harm the message. Remember, God loves us, mistakes and all and He is the most important audience. He delights in watching His children as they share the Word in such a creative way. Plays may be presented in chronological order, or with a time-oriented explanation, perhaps correlating with Bible study or Sunday school lessons. Likewise, these Biblical events re-enacted will not only bring the ancient stories to life, but will enrich today’s current events, along with geographical awareness. VALUable Bible Plays may also be adapted to any size church with any type of budget and there are no age limits to be involved. In fact, all the plays are meant to include as many church participants, of all ages, as possible. Parts are written for the experienced, mature actor as well as for the toddlers who become hopping frogs in the Egyptian plague. Here is a fun way to get the whole church involved in a visual Bible study. For example, when Moses meets Pharaoh, the plague of frogs may be played by four year olds! VALUable Bible Plays introduces Old Testament characters and events in historical sequence that allows the audience to learn as they are entertained. Each play has a balance of humor, along with historical continuity that flows into the next play. Each of the 16 Old Testament plays are also stand-alone performances. Using simple props, staging and costuming, any church can provide a successful drama presentation that will be entertaining and educational.
