9780982618509: Alphabet Woof!

Alphabet Woof! is the story of Moxy the dog who eats magic soup and his wish comes true: He can talk! This gift leads Moxy and his family to some exciting adventures, but in the end, he realizes his greatest gift is not his ability to talk but rather, his ability to talk with the people he loves, who love him back. The story is fun and whimsical, but carries an important underlying message of family values and of understanding what really matters.

Review:

Alphabet Woof is fun to read, especially aloud, and highly entertaining. Madia occasionally channels Dr. Seuss in the rhyme scheme she incorporates into the story and the result is a charming tale of a dog whose world changes thanks to Aunt Mabel s soup. Bottom Line: Would I buy Alphabet Woof? (One woof for yes, two woofs for no) WOOF!!! --Seattle Intelligencer

I would definitely recommend this book as a great read for the whole family and it now has a home on our most used bookshelf an honor indeed. --Edwards Magazine Bookclub

My two children, ages 5 and 3, loved this book! When we read it, they were laughing and talking about a dog being able to talk. They have both sat down with this book on their own, to read it to themselves. After reading this, we discussed what our dog would say, if he could talk! This was such a fun book for all of us to enjoy together. That was a really funny book! I wish my dog could talk! - Brejden, age 5. Mom, can we read it again? - Amilya, Age 3 --Novel Reaction Kids

This is a wonderful book about a dog named Moxy, and his loving family. My favorite being Aunt Mabel, a mysterious aunt who would say each time she served a meal, 'This meal might just change your whole world--if you wish.!' Who would have known that saying would come true as a wish was made and Moxy, the dog, was able to talk. Would this make their lives better? Now the damiooy life really changed--more money, travel, and everyone being nice to them--but was it what they really wanted? Did a talking dog bring more love and happiness to the family, or did it pull them farther apart? Hmmm, you will have to read this adorable book to find out. I really liked this story. The illustrations were so bright and colorful, showing the emotions and actions of each character perfectly with what was happening. I also loved the way it is written in rhyme. To me, this always makes a children's book warmer and more inviting. And the storyline was great, teaching a lesson along the way, ending with happiness for all involved. Great story, fun bright illustrations, a lesson taught--it just doesn't get much better than that. Recommended. Shirley Johnson, Senior Reviewer --The Midwest Book Review
