Life can be challenging, but now we have a manual for finding creative solutions to every problem.
Discover an enchanted new world of creative possibilities by harnessing The Power of Thinking Differently: An imaginative guide to creativity, change, and the discovery of new ideas.
Whether it's dealing with a career change, financial issues, relationship issues, global issues, artist blocks, or the need to keep your business innovative and ahead of the competition, we often find ourselves stuck and in need of a new perspective. While creative solutions can sometimes seem elusive, we all have the ability to attain new ideas and creative insights. All we need is a map to show us the way to rediscovering our brain’s inherent creativity.
That map is finally here. The Power of Thinking Differently is not just a book of thinking strategies and creativity exercises. In this groundbreaking work, the author explores the latest research into the neuroscience and psychology of creativity while lightheartedly guiding the reader through the universal stages of the creative process. This ultimate creative thinking guidebook covers topics such as lateral thinking, technological innovation, artistic creativity, scientific breakthroughs, mental illness, spiritual transformation, and the deepening of personal meaning. It exercises the imagination through humor, analogy, engaging puzzles, and a fanciful tale of heroic adventure. The result? Psychology instructor, and former electrical engineer, Javy W. Galindo teaches us how to think beyond our habitual thinking patterns in order to rewire our brains to think differently.

Javy Wong Galindo, M.A., M.Eng., is a college psychology instructor, musician, writer, entrepreneur, and humorist. This former electrical engineer and performing arts teacher has over 13 years of experience providing creative consultation. He is available for lectures, workshops, interviews and can be contacted through his website, www.Thinking-Differently.com. Javy’s interests in thinking differently began the first time he answered a question incorrectly on a test, which occurred early and often in his childhood. As a youth, he developed a passion for storytelling, creative writing, sketch comedy, and performed in various instrumental music ensembles. This affinity for creative endeavors naturally led him to a decade long career working in a cubicle as an electrical engineer. He holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UC San Diego with minors in philosophy and music theory. While working as an engineer for companies such as Motorola and Northrop Grumman, Javy participated in various corporate creativity workshops. At the same time, he continued to feed his creative hungers by being an educator for several Southern California non-profit youth arts organizations and as a San Diego high school music instructor. In 2007, Javy took a hiatus from his engineering career to pursue an academic investigation of the creative process at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA. Here he earned a master’s degree in consciousness and transformative studies specializing in the psychology of creativity and east-west philosophy. He currently instructs college courses in Psychology and Mathematics and often works with older students transitioning into new careers. When he’s not grading papers or speaking on creativity, Javy can be found singing at a club, performing bad comedy improv, writing an unfunny comedy sketch, or running poorly on an uphill trail.
