Why do some animal protection efforts succeed while others fail? Discover how more than 80 leading advocates create change for animals. You'll learn a seven-step system with techniques that are transforming advocacy... and the world. Find out what it takes to be effective personally and in organizations from grassroots to global. Engaging stories and practical how-tos make Animal Impact a must-read for anyone who cares deeply about helping animals. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how some of today's most respected animal advocates are making a difference. An innovative, easy-to-remember framework summarizes key points for action. Newcomers can get a fast start to high-impact advocacy. Veterans in the field will benefit from fresh ways of thinking, as well as new methods to apply. The lessons are useful for individual advocates, volunteers, frontline staff, program and campaign managers, executive directors, board members, and funders. Though written for people seeking to influence others, the insight on what separates winning efforts from disappointments will also interest movement observers and students of social change. For more than a decade, Caryn Ginsberg has helped leaders on issues including: spay/neuter, adoption, emergency animal services, humane education, vegetarianism and veganism, wildlife, and more. As an instructor for Humane Society University and at conferences and events, she has shared strategies about influencing people, businesses and government. Praised by luminaries including Peter Singer, Wayne Pacelle, Ed Sayres, Gene Baur, Esther Mechler, Michelle Thew, and others, Animal Impact reveals her powerful approaches for achieving the results that advocates and the animals deserve.

From the Back Cover:

"Many people spend their time deploring the awful things we do to animals, but don't know how to change the situation.  If you want to make a positive difference for animals, Animal Impact is full of good ideas.  It's the practical handbook every activist should read."
Peter Singer, author, Animal Liberation

"In my more than 35 years of working in animal welfare, I've seen that  nonprofits that adopt the best strategies from within and beyond our field have achieved significant results. Animal Impact  provides numerous examples of this phenomenon and is an excellent manual for those who want to be effective animal advocates."
Ed Sayres, President & CEO, ASPCA

"In addition to working hard to help animals, it's critical that we also work smart. This book provides invaluable advice for being as effective and impactful as possible."
Gene Baur, President and Cofounder, Farm Sanctuary

"I love it! It's an easy read and these ideas can be implemented in any situation where you are trying to impact change. This book will transform how we go about helping animals."
Aimee St. Arnaud, Board of Directors member, Humane Ohio

"We will change how society treats animals, a radical goal, by acting strategically, professionally and with clearly defined action.  This book helps us to lay out that road-map. It enables everyone to take their steps on the right road with direction and impact- just what animals need."
Michelle Thew, Chief Executive, European Coalition to End Animal Experiments

"This book is the definitive 'how to' for all animal advocates. Anyone who takes the opportunity to read, digest, and implement will most assuredly score a victory for animals."
Neil Trent, Executive Director, Animal Welfare League of Arlington

Front Cover Quote:
"This book is so desperately needed in our movement.  We need to blend passion with professionalism, and this book is going to help get us there."
Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO, The Humane Society of the United States
