EVERYONE DIES BUT THE CHILDREN SURVIVE!

What if the world ended overnight and everyone died but you?  How would you cope?  What would you do to take care of yourself when there is very little food left in your cupboard and no clean water coming out of your faucet?  And you have a little dog who must eat and drink, too?

This is what happens to Mindy Lane, the heroine of But the Children Survived.  One day, her grammy goes to the grocery store and never returns.  Her parents are on vacation a thousand miles away, but the phone doesn't work and there is no way to communicate with them.  Mindy doesn't know everyone in North America had died following the release of a biological weapon.  She just knows she's running out of food and must decide what she'll do next.  One night, frightened by the prospect of strangers finding her alone, she hides with her grammy's little dog, Baby Girl, under a ramp attached to the mobile home she's occupying.  She watches two men in hazmat suits go into her house and overhears them say they are looking for a child.  As she huddles with Baby Girl under the ramp, her fear of discovery grows.

Who are the men and why are they looking for her?  Why did Mindy survive when everyone else succumbed to the deadly poison?  Why did Baby Girl live when all other animals perished? The answer lies in a mysterious plant found deep in the Brazilian rain forest. Two scientists - one who desires to preserve life and one driven to destroy - travel to the rain forest seeking the woman who discovered the plant.  Can they compel her to share her marvelous discovery?

But the Children Survived is the story of survival and endurance in the face of unspeakable odds. Will Mindy find her parents?  Are they still alive?  Read But the Children Survived, a mystery with many layers that will keep you engaged until the end.

But the Children Survived has been called "great science fiction" and "engrossing, entertaining, and a fun read" by readers on Amazon.

From the Author:

This book was born in an instant - I saw the girl, Mindy Lane, running down my hallway holding my little dog and the story unfolded from there.  The girl is loosely based on my granddaughter and my dog, Trixie.  The characters are drawn from family members and friends I've known over the years.  I am overwhelmed by the reception this book has received, and I am eternally grateful to you all who have taken a chance on me.  It truly does pay to follow your heart.

About the Author:

A.L. Jambor began writing in 2010. Inspired by a photo of her granddaughter, she sat at her computer and wrote the harrowing story of a pharmaceutical nightmare called But the Children Survived. The book was a hit, and she went on to write more books and novellas, including the popular Divine Detective Agency.

In 2013, she began a time travel series called The Secret of Truelock Manor. The third book in the series, Mercy in the Moonlight, while a good story, wasn't the tale Ms. Jambor wanted to tell. She revisited the series, choosing to combine the three books, and that book became Their Best Dreams.

Ms. Jambor lives with her husband in Florida. They share their home with a dog named Trixie, the inspiration for "Baby Girl" in But the Children Survived, and the pudgy terrier, Libby the Psychic Dog. A cat named Sammy rounds out their little family. She welcomes communication with her fans. You can write to her by visiting her website or social media pages.

With her is her grandmother s terrier dog, Baby Girl, and she, too, needs food. In a desperate attempt to find help, Mindy plans to leave the mobile home park she has been staying in since her parents went on vacation and go to the highway where she hopes to find other people. The mobile home park was evacuated during a hurricane and Mindy doesn t know that there are dead people on the streets. Before she can go, however, men in hazmat suits come to the park and kidnap her, taking her to an underground facility. There, she finds other children like her, survivors who witnessed the horrifying deaths of their parents. As the children recount their tragedies, Mindy refuses to believe her parents are dead, and when no one believes her, she sets out to find them, not knowing what awaits her outside the safety of the underground biosphere.
