A naughty novel for Valentine's Day.
“Who's scared of the older woman?” laughs newly-single Philip after falling for the gorgeous but very married owner of an antiques store. Apparently not he, as this sexy romp takes off. Author Edward Essex knows whereof he writes: habits of the “naughty” set north of New York City, details of antique silver collecting, delectable food, hilarities of British humor. And yes, it turns out, Philip should be afraid. An unexpected bonus in this joyously erotic thriller are the tender and passionate love poems studded throughout. You'll want to keep these for late-night reading. Or maybe an afternoon delight...
Edward H. Essex brilliantly captures the beauty, sensuality, and passion of love making. The human emotions of each character is so very authentic and real....drawing the reader into a crescendo of eroticism like none other! Remains To Be Seen is erotic , sexy and a page turner. —Isabella Elena

Before turning to books, both as an editor and writer, Edward H. Essex was an award-winning advertising art director and copywriter. “Remains To Be Seen” is his first novel. His second book, “Love Poems We Love,” was written at the request of readers who enjoyed the intimate rhymes that form part of the storyline in “Remains to Be Seen” and wanted more! Both books have garnered Five Star reader reviews:
“I loved Remains to be Seen. But beyond the passages of erotic romance, I found an even more compelling story about the devastating effect an all-consuming, passionate affair can have upon an intelligent and powerful, yet fragile, person drawn into an emotional whirlpool.”
“...enjoyed the creative structure of the book and how different narrators were intertwined throughout the book to share their perspective on this hot love story. I wondered at first (being in my twenties) whether I would enjoy reading an erotic story about an older generation. Now I know. Absolutely! Susan’s point about “the best sex in your life comes later in your life” sounds great to me.”
“An unexpected bonus in this joyously erotic thriller are the tender and passionate love poems studded throughout. You'll want to keep these for late-night reading.”
Phillip is killing time before a movie by aimlessly browsing in a nearby antiques shop. He meets Susan, the married owner. They are British ex-pats and there is an instant rapport. Susan lures Phillip back to the shop by convincing him to start a silver collection. Susan flirts, Phillip teases, and it isn't long before the relationship becomes sexual. Wildly sexual. They have uncovered a highly charged physical connection they have never known before. Susan has found the passion that has been missing from her marriage. Phillip is content with the stupendously good sex. But as a recovering alcoholic, this is exactly the kind of relationship he should have avoided. Phillip's obsessive traits soon reveal themselves as he falls in love and becomes more and more demanding. When Phillip insists that Susan leave her husband, she realizes the relationship has only been about sex for her, and if it's about more than that, she doesn't want it. In a final sexual encounter that is just short of rape on Phillip's part, Susan determines what she must do. And exactly what that is of course...Remains To Be Seen. The Players. Phillip is an alcoholic and his drinking was largely responsible for the end of his marriage. But he's in recovery and doing well. He's not looking to jump straight into another relationship but the company of a good woman wouldn't go amiss. Susan is a beautiful English woman of a certain age. She has been married to the same man for many years. Despite living a comfortable life in upscale Chester County, she feels lonely. Her distraction is her antiques shop, Remains To Be Seen. James is Susan's husband. He was raised the son of a British Army officer and followed family tradition by joining the forces. He fought in Northern Ireland during the troubles of the 1970's-an experience that left him with emotional scars. Sarah is a few years older than Susan. She was Susan's boss back in the soaring seventies in London. When Susan left for America, Sarah followed. S
