Excellent sequel to Twist of Fate! Wretched Fate is the second book in the Sam Osborne series and is the sequel to Twisted Fate. Although it's not absolutely necessary to read Twisted Fate first, several of the characters from the first book appear in this book as well. I was very happy to see that Casey and Danny have become integral to Sam's life as well as moving on with their own. But Wretched Fate takes us quite a long ways towards learning who Sam Osborne really is, and what makes him tick. At the same time, the new characters in this book captured my interest immediately as they were all quite fascinating. I would highly recommend reading Wretched Fate to see how Jacob and Rosalie learn about life from each other, how Sam solves the unsolvable clueless crime, and how little Luke escapes his fate. These authors truly know how to create characters that are flawed, yet compelling and true to life. The characters in this book are very vivid and personable, yet unique in their own way. I especially loved the relationship between the two main characters, Jacob and Rosalie. My eyes and heart were glued to this story because I just had to find out what happened between these two strange people! A long-time newspaper columnist who didn't start writing books until age 82 and continues well into her 80s with the popular Fate Series. She also writes short stories and is collaborating with her daughter on several other books in the series.

A wordsmith with 40 years of experience writing features for magazines and other periodicals and editing non-fiction. She has spent most of those years also creating fictional stories, and she's writing her own young adult novels as well as working with her mother on the Fate Series.
