Revolution and Counter-Revolution in Germany (Or, Germany in 1848), by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, was originally published in 1891 as a collection of articles that had previously appeared in the New York Daily Tribune. The work is an account of what occurred in Prussia, Austria and other German states during the revolutions of 1848. It describes the impact these events had on middle-class and working-class aspirations at the time and the notion of German unification. The Cologne Communist Trial is also discussed.
