For his view of the case I will allow myself to state certain Propositions in propositions. Of these the first is this: A precedent military coronationof service is nowise essential for the constitution of a true king;the kirgfor these ceremonies of a soldier's service and of the anointing of a king are of human institution, and imposed as it were from a feeling of their propriety. Therefore one of them may be observed without the other. My second proposition is this: There is no Egyptian day more unlucky for the Of Egyptian kingly coronation than another. The skiey influences exert aysno constraining power on a man's free will, which is altogether unmaterial; and a man who by his own wish and in the exercise of his reason has been crowned and anointed upon one day may do as well as if this had happened on another. In the matter of good luck ask for nothing; but ask for a prudent mind, and that every act of your will may be regulated by wisdom, and then you shall do well.
