While Dutreuil de Rhins proceeded towards Nagchu by the direct road, I set about accompanying the chief lama to the foot of the Dam Larghan La. This was a slight favour which was not obtained without difficulty and the risk of reopening the whole question; but we had insisted on it in order to be able to connect our route exactly with that of M. Bonvalot. I camped, in the evening, at the extreme point reached by the latter traveller.
