UR Historic Pilgrimage to Lexington and Concord begins at Park Square, near the identical spot from which the British troops embarked in boats, rowed across the Charles river to the Cambridge side, and started on their expedition to Lexington and Con cord, on the 18th of April, in the year 1775.
On the right is the Boston Public Garden, a tract of land comprising 2414 acres, set aside by an act of the Legislature in 1859. It has been kept under a perfect state Of cultivation and isa wonderful example of horticultural development. In the centre Of the garden is an artificial pond and spanning the pond is the famous Bridge of Size.
