Excerpt from Bounds on the Elements of the Equivalent Network for Scattering in Waveguides: II. Application to Dielectric Obstacles
In the preceding paper1 the Kato2 method for obtaining rigorous variational bounds on the phase shifts was adapted to scattering by obstacles in waveguides. In this paper the theory is applied to several Specific examples of obstacles in a rectangular waveguide. The application to metallic obstacles is com plicated by the requirement that the trial function ut be normal to the surface of the obstacle, and it therefore seemed preferable to limit ourselves in the present paper to dielectric obstacles.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book explores scattering in waveguides and the bounds on elements of equivalent circuits that describe this phenomenon. The author shows how to apply variational principles and trial functions to scattering problems, extending their use to multiple, hollow, and composite obstacles that are symmetric about a central axis." The book is grounded in solid mathematical theory, but the material is presented in an accessible way that progressively introduces readers to the concepts. The detailed numerical examples and solved problems will aid comprehension and help readers apply the theory to their own research. This book effectively bridges abstract theory and real-world applications, making it a must-read for students and researchers in waveguide theory, scattering, and electromagnetics. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Codice articolo 9781332106226_0
