In section 3 sufficient conditions are obtained on the function kex(v) to guarantee the existence of non-trivial steady state solutions. Additional conditions are stated which are sufficient to insure that a non-constant steady state is unique. The steady state temperature and neutron density are given implicitly in terms of integrals of kex(v). These results are applied, as an example, to the special case assumed in Here a bound on the steady state exit temper ature is obtained in terms of the input temperature.
