Excerpt from An O(n Log N) Algorithm for the Voronoi Diagram of a Set of Simple Curve Segments: Preliminary Version
We overcome this problem by computing only the 'essential' part of the Voronoi diagram of a slab, where this essential part has size only O(k) if the slab contains 1: endpoints of X. Furthermore, merging two slabs that collectively contain 1: endpoints takes only O(k) work. (note: actually, I: should be the number of segments with endpoints in the slab.) This implies that cad-i stage takes linear time and our stated time bound follows.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book introduces a groundbreaking algorithm that solves the Voronoi diagram problem, greatly improving on existing approaches. Voronoi diagrams are geometric structures used in fields such as biology, computer graphics, geographic optimization, and robotics. The author's novel technique enables the computation of these diagrams in O(nlogn) time, a significant advance over previous O(n^2) algorithms. This enhancement extends the applicability of Voronoi diagrams, facilitating their use in complex real-world scenarios. The book presents clear theoretical explanations and practical implementation details, empowering readers to utilize the algorithm effectively. The author's work expands the capabilities of Voronoi diagrams, offering new possibilities for problem-solving in various domains. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Codice articolo 9781333598174_0
