Sinossi

Excerpt from Classification and Identification of Handwriting

In the present system a crime category has been dispensed with in order that a single search of the files may suffice to establish whether or not a duplicate exists therein, which is believed to conform more closely to the modern idea of centralization of records. Thus, as with fingerprints, the writing specimen itself contains all the elements necessary for its correct classification, regard less of the criminal proclivities, name, description, etc., of the author. A thief to-day may turn forger to-mor row or blackmailer the next day; so were his specimen filed first according to criminal specialty, and second according to the graphic characteristics of his writing, search would be necessary under a number of crime di visions in order to make his identification certain.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a revolutionary system for classifying and identifying handwriting, analogous to the groundbreaking fingerprint system developed by Sir E. R. Henry. The author, an expert in handwriting analysis, draws upon the work of leading authorities like Osborn, Ames, Hagen, Frazer, and Locard, and introduces a comprehensive method for systematically organizing and retrieving handwriting samples for identification purposes. The book delves into the intricacies of handwriting analysis, exploring the subtle, often overlooked features that can distinguish one writer from another. From the meticulous analysis of individual letterforms to the larger patterns of alignment, spacing, and movement, the author reveals the secrets of personal handwriting style. The book outlines a unique system for classifying handwriting based on eight key factors, each subdivided into three distinct classes, allowing for a highly organized and efficient system of indexing and filing. This system, the author argues, is invaluable for law enforcement agencies and legal professionals, offering a powerful tool for uncovering the identities of anonymous writers and resolving cases involving forged documents or threatening letters. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Codice articolo 9781333691523_0
