This absolutely cracking debut novel from Lucy Saxon ... is a delicious cocktail incorporating steampunk, His Dark Materials and George Orwell. About as good a YA adventure as you'll see all year (SFX)

Take Back the Skies is a brilliant debut and Lucy Saxon is definitely an author to keep your eye on! There are so many twists and turns in the book; I was absolutely captivated from the first page until the last. She writes beautifully and entertainingly and I can't wait to read more in this series! Take Back the Skies is a fun and wild adventure into a fantasy world that becomes more vivid with every new word. It's a fast-paced story filled with tension and danger, one that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. The cast of characters is great and the worldbuilding strong.
