James W. Neuliep (Ph.D., University of Oklahoma) conducts research and teaches courses in intercultural communication, communication theory, communication apprehension, ethnocentrism, and research methods.  Along with Jim McCroskey, he has developed a number of assessment scales used throughout the discipline.  In addition to his introductory intercultural communication textbook, he was also written an introductory communication theory textbook (Human Communication Theory: Applications and Case Studies, Allyn & Bacon), and his research has appeared in the following journals:  Communication Research Reports; Journal of Intercultural Communication; Communication Reports; Journal of Social Behavior and Personality; Communication Education; Communication Quarterly; and Human Communication Research.  He is the editor of the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research and has served on the editorial boards of:  Communication Studies; Journal of Communication; Journal of Applied Communication Research; Journal of Social Behavior and Personality; Communication Quarterly.
