Janet Portman specializes in residential and commercial landlord/tenant law, legal issues related to courts, landlords and tenants, and neighbor disputes. Her other books include Every Landlord's Legal Guide and Every Tenant's Legal Guide. She is also a nationally syndicated columnist with Inman News and her “Rent It Right” column appears regularly in the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe and many other newspapers and websites. David Brown practices law in the Monterey, California area. Brown, a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Santa Clara Law School, also teaches law at the Monterey College of Law. He is the author of Beat Your Ticket and The California Landlord’s Law Book: Rights and Responsibilities among others. Mr. Brown lives in Monterey, California.
