Until she gets shot at, firebombed and pestered by a real estate salesman trying to buy her out. Her life is further complicated by a hunky FBI agent who looks at her as a prime suspect, as well as the surprise arrival of a sister she hasn’t seen in decades, who begs to live with Molly while she dies of cancer and searches for the son she lost to social services. Molly wisecracks and knits her way through the investigation, being attacked, her growing attraction to the FBI guy, and dealing with her sister, as well as her issues about being gray-haired and what she prefers to call “plump,” and her fear of intimacy. And learns that knitting needles make deadly weapons. Anyone who thinks that romance, adventure and angst are NOT reserved for young, slim beauties will enjoy this book.

Lee Schultz is the pseudonym of Gene Byrge. She has been writing on and off since age 9. Several of her short stories were published in EQMM and Hustler magazines in the 1970's. She has worked as an equipment operator, spent 10 years as a coal miner, got her law degree at the age of 46, has raised four children, the oldest of whom passed on at the age of 26. She has five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Lee is a voracious reader and will read "anything that will hold still long enough" - but still managed to write "Frozen Assets" between knitting projects. At first she decided not to attempt to publish the novel because it took too much time away from reading - until Kindle, epublishing and on demand publishing. Figured "why not?" She's working on the fourth in the Yooperwoman series. The knitting is feeling all but abandoned these days. You may also enjoy "The Taste of Copper," "Remembrances of Winter" and "A Revenge Served Coldf," the second, third and fourth books in the series.
