L'autore:
Owen Quinn was born on 11th September 1968, a date that one day would be synonymous with terror and hope. He has always loved science fiction but is really bad at science and once gave up a chance to see the Pope to watch Doctor Who. He lives in Northern Ireland with his wife, son and two dogs. He believes in the supernatural but only if he can't debunk it and sometimes he looks up at the night sky and wonders what if? Owen's first realization he had the potential to be a writer was when he had to write a story in primary school about lambs. The teacher was so impressed she put it up in the staff canteen. It was later on in grammar school when his English teacher, Pat Mooney, told him that he could see him as a famous writer, although Owen wanted to be an actor and made a very convincing drunk in Philadelphia, Here I Come! but when he spent the summer writing by hand a complete story for Doctor Who, along with a hand drawn cover, he was astonished to be rejected. Of course, at sixteen he thought this was a complete insult, especially when they didn't even read it(policy was handwritten scripts were not read). So Owen thought to himself to hell with this, I'm going to create my own science fiction series with my own monsters and heroes and be bigger than Doctor Who or Star Trek. Oh to have the mind of a sixteen year old again but he did. And here is the result, book 1 of the Time Warriors. This is actually twenty six years in the making but the Time Warriors at the hand of a sixteen year old is different to the 42 year old. Gone are the time boosters and super powers and in its place, characters formed by Owen's own life experiences and adventures both happy and sad. He has put a lot of himself into the characters yet as he wrote their adventures, they took on a life of their own, going in directions Owen had never conceived for them and becoming more than characters but solidifying into real people who laugh, cry, hope and fear. Owen has always wanted his work to be sci-fi with a heart; stories and characters that would stay with the reader, making them think, laugh and cry. Anyone can do monsters invading Earth but the trick is to make people want to join the adventure. Owen firmly hopes those in the world that feel like they don't quite fit in, are dreamers and believe there is something more, will find a home in the Time Warriors books. And maybe, just maybe, they are Time Warriors too.
