Paul Kimmage was born in Dublin in 1962. He was a professional cyclist for four years, riding in the Tour de France three times. He became a journalist whilst chronicling his life as a professional cyclist and now works as a sports writer on the Irish Sunday Independent. His first book, Rough Ride, won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award. He lives near Dublin.
