If you happen to Google the word tithing on the Internet today, you would find that there are many different teachings and views on the subject. Many believe that tithing is not a New Testament requirement, that it was in the law and has passed away, or that the Lord wants us to be givers but tithing 10% is not necessary. They say that we should be led by the Spirit how much to give instead. I believe that if you will carefully study the actual scriptures on tithing in the Old and New Testaments that you will come to the conclusion, as I have, that tithing is vitally necessary in our current day and time. There should be no one starving in America but yet we have areas of abject poverty. There should be no Christian with any need, but yet we have poverty stricken believers. Tithing, especially New Testament tithing, should cause poverty in the Christian world to be a thing of the past. If this were true there would be many more people coming to the Lord than we are seeing today. Not teaching and requiring tithing has caused Christians to be without their needs met, giving place to the devil, and leadership is being blinded to the truth just like it happened in the Old Testament. Any time we decide to disobey what God requires it will have disastrous effects. If the truth were known, lack of tithing has caused our country s financial distress and moral decline. I see what God has opened my eyes to see and I cannot remain silent about it. I pray that the Lord will put this book into the hands of many who will see the truth and use it to turn our country around once more. We do win in the end, but we may have to wait for another generation, another time if we fail to take action on what is clearly in the Word of God. Nehemiah required tithing and so should we.

John Walters accepted Christ on a truly unique day 7/7/77 and his walk with God has been just as special as that date. John has an MBA from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He retired from a 28 year career with a major utility company. He has been blessed with a Spirit-filled wife he met while they bth were doing street ministry in Atlanta, GA. They have a ministry called Sprit of Elijah, Inc. that started as a prayer ministry in the 1980's. John and Connie operated The Light Christian Bookstore for five years as a ministry of Spirit of Elijah. They have been on missions trips to Bulgaria and India and have built four churches in India. They now live in Ocala, FL.
