Blake Guirguis is a first time children's book author and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. Getting diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease at the early age of 18 (with expectations of a dismal prognosis) started him on a path of asking the "big" questions in life. It was the impetus that got him started on pursuing answers to those questions. What he came to understand on that journey was that we are all one "family," and that we are all intimately connected at the deepest level. For the last 15 years he's worked as a therapist and social worker primarily with children with disabilities, and adults with mental health difficulties. He enjoys working with clients in a way that recognizes or focuses on the shared connection between them, and honors each individual's strengths and unique gifts. It is his conviction that If we all practiced seeing ourselves in other people, we would experience ourselves and the world in a completely different manner . . . not least as a more peaceful and joyful one.
