Dr. Kaye Pentecost McKee is a minister, writer, conference leader, nonprofit executive director, and spiritual director. Kaye earned a doctorate in Christian Nurture from Austin Presbyterian Seminary, a master’s degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a master’s in pastoral ministry from the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest, and a bachelor’s in religious education from Centenary College (Methodist). She describes herself as either highly ecumenical or highly confused. In addition to her writing, Kaye currently serves as the Executive Director of A Spacious Place, Inc., the nonprofit corporation that grew out of her doctoral project. A Spacious Place provides spirituality and creativity classes, clubs, camps, and centers to marginalized and underserved populations. When God Walks Away was written following her dark night of several years’ duration, endured through God’s grace and a quirky sense of humor.
