Although Deborah has been writing stories since she was 8 years old and vowed to become an author when she was 13, she served 20 years in the U. S. Air Force before finally getting serious about her writing dreams. She published her first book "Be Still, My Love" in December of 2011 and in 2012 it sped up the charts until it became Amazon's #1 selling e-book. Deborah loved her character Tess Schafer so much she wrote another book, Hidden Voices, and set the story in her hometown of Bucksport, Maine. From there the Tess Schafer-Medium series was born and there are now six books published in the series with another in the works. All six of those e-books were best sellers for their categories and stayed on Amazon's Hot New Releases page for several weeks. Her avid interest in the paranormal, spurred from living several years in a haunted old farmhouse in Orland, Maine, has provided lots of fuel for her imagination to feed on. In fact, the first book she wrote, No Matter What, which began when Deborah was 16 and didn't finish until over 20 years later, was inspired from her years of living in that house. Spurred by the success of "Be Still, My Love", Deborah published "No Matter What" in October of 2012. It was over-shadowed by the Tess Schafer series until recently when it finally made it onto Amazon's Best-Sellers lists. Though she loves writing paranormal stories, Deborah's love of the romance genre had her switching gears and in early 2016 she published two romance books "Tangled Up Hearts" and "Moments in the Moonlight". The latter book, however, turned into a lighthearted paranormal mystery with Tess Schafer putting in a guest appearance. Deborah is finally living her dream and hopes to keep writing stories until she passes from this life and heads on into her next big adventure!
