The Peaceful Pill Handbook is the leading end-of-life guidebook for seniors and people who are seriously ill (and their friends & family). Dr Philip Nitschke MD, with Lawyer Dr Fiona Stewart, provide readers with easy-to-follow practical information on a diverse range of end of life strategies. Exit's 'Reliability-Peacefulness' Table allows readers to compare various options including: the barbiturates (eg Nembutal) (sources, testing, storage, administration, legals), gases such as Nitrogen and Helium, prescription medicines such as Morphine, Propoxyphene, Amytriptyline, Chloroquine, Insulin etc, as well as the three Swiss services currently available to foreigners. All strategies are ranked according to peacefulness and reliability (and other factors (eg accessibility, legals, safety to others). The book also covers the associated issues of advance health directives, testamentary capacity, death certificates & autopsies. The Peaceful Pill Handbook was first published in 2006. The 2016 edition is the eighth update to this highly informative and easy-to-read book. The online Peaceful Pill eHandbook (available on subscription from the website of the same name) is updated 6x per year.
