John Marshall owned a Kodak box camera at age seven, and was carrying a 35 mm camera on day trips a the age of twelve. His professional photography career began in Washington State when National Geographic magazine published his pictures of Mt. St. Helens after its eruption in May 1980.

John’s work has appeared in several books about Washington State as well as many magazines and calendars.
