This study, based on a survey questionnaire of a nonrandom sample of 136 Black faculty at predominantly White postsecondary educational institutions, examines the institutional factors that influence Black faculty satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their institutions. They also seek to explain which Black faculty are most likely to leave an institution, which are more likely to stay, and why. Finally, the authors offer advice on how postsecondary institutions can increase their retention rates of Black faculty. Annotation ©2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
