To Our Beloved Readers, Carpe Articulum Literary Review is a magazine dedicated to the perpetuation of the Literary Arts. It is important to understand what makes this Review different from any other. We are a world wide publication, available in seven languages. It is designed as a collector's publication to be enjoyed for years to come. Carpe Articulum is privileged to serve one of the largest readerships of a literature magazine globally. This colourful publication creates a forum for all the humanities to come together and to engage in a meaningful dialogue. Each edition introduces fresh voices and new insights into the world of writing. Articles are always informative and enlightening, allowing the reader to keep his/her "finger on the pulse" of the global writing community, (and its many genres). This issue's theme is Athazagoraphobia: The Fear of Being Forgotten. While it is daunting to attempt to encapsulate this idea within a single issue, we feel it has been approached with respect, as one of the single greatest drivers in a person's life. The written word is the most brave and egalitarian form of communication, since the reader has no way of forming prejudices against the writer because there is only the black and white word. Thoughts can be heard and accepted or rejected based solely upon their own merits. No one knows if the writer is black, white, male, female, Jewish or Buddhist except that the writer tells them so (or not). The written word may be the only true Utopian environment the human race ever has the privilege of engaging. It is the only true defense against being forgotten. In this day and age, when the oppressed are finally gaining a voice and a willing ear, we see this mission of being a conduit for them as sacrosanct. So, our desire is to continue to raise a flagship in such uncharted waters, and to create a stage for the heretofore silent. Moreover, the written word is all that remains of us. As Faulkner once said, "Nobody remembers Shakespeare's children". Even our children's memories will last but a few generations, but our written words make us accessible and memorable forever. Aside from providing a stage for fresh writers and writings via a forward-thinking literary review, Carpe Articulum also bestows awards, scholarships and grants regularly upon new artists whom display promise and potential. Chief among these awards is the prestigious Carpe Verbum Literary Award, which presents about $10,000.00 per annum to writers and artists from every walk of life. In this manner, we show our undying support to the blossoming writers, painters, photographers and other interpreters of life. We will continue our work as an eclectic medium for writers, agents, publishing houses, filmmakers and photographers to converge. Keep writing! Sincerely, H. R. L. Broscova, Editor-in-Chief

Review:
This Magazine doesn't simply feature literary and visual arts; this magazine IS a work of art. ---Connie Neeley

What an inspiring... beautiful publication! ---Connie May Fowler, Author, "When Women Had Wings" made into motion picture with Oprah Winfrey

A life CHANGING publication. I cannot believe the people I have met due to its existence. Both due to the articles and due to others whom have seen me reading it. What a fine, prestigious, non-temporary magazine. It is a veritable who's who of writers, artists, photographers, theatre stars and novelists. I am blown away. I cannot see anyone ever throwing this issue out. It is more of a book than a magazine. I love the photographs corresponding to each short story. What a beautiful cross-genre application. Stunning volumes. I am blown away. ---Doris Sims, Writer, Poet
