From 1993 to 2008, the Australian cricket team thrilled the nation. Legend after legend stepped onto the pitch: Mark Taylor, Steve and Mark Waugh, Ian Healy, Glenn McGrath, Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist and, of course, the once-in-a-lifetime Shane Warne - perhaps the greatest bowler ever. They led an unprecedented run of success, surpassing even the achievements of Don Bradman's Invincibles and the rampaging West Indies of the 1970s and '80s.
Inspiring, revealing and with an unmatched wit, Malcolm Knox revisits this magic age in Australian cricket, conjuring the key moments, major players and important influences through reconstructions of the greatest matches of the era.
