Austin Bush lleg� por primera vez a Tailandia en 1999 para estudiar thai en un programa organizado por la Universidad de Chiang Mai. Tentado por la vida en la ciudad, el trabajo y la comida picante, con el tiempo se traslad� a Bangkok, donde se ha quedado desde entonces. Actualmente trabaja como escritor y fot�grafo. La obsesi�n por los viajes de Adam Skolnick naci� mientras trabajaba como activista medioambiental a mediados de la d�cada de 1990. David Eimer es periodista y escritor desde que renunci� a ser abogado en 1990.
