Jan Abram is a training and supervising analyst of the British Psychoanalytical Society. She worked for the Squiggle Foundation between 1989 and 2000 and was its director between 1996 and 2000. She is author of The Language of Winnicott (1st edition 1996, awarded Outstanding Academic Book of the Year in 1997; 2nd edition 2007). She is the editor of Donald Winnicott Today (New Library of Psychoanalysis, 2013). Currently she is Chair of the Scientific Committee for the British Psychoanalytical Society; Visiting Lecturer for the Tavistock Clinic; Honorary Senior Lecturer, University College London; and Honorary Professor at the University of Essex. In 2016 she will be Visiting Professor at the University of Kyoto, Japan.
