Frances Thomas was born in Wales, and started writing professionally in 1980. She also teaches dyslexic children on a part-time basis. She has won a number of awards for her children's picture books. Ruth Brown is the creator of some of Britain's best loved children's books. She has created dozens of picture books for Andersen Press and is highly respected as an author and illustrator. She is married to artist Ken Brown and they have two sons. (2002-10-18)
