Myra Mahoney s affinity with guinea pigs started rather late in life, when she bought two of these cuddly, good-tempered pets for two of her children as Easter presents. One morning, Myra found that the two sister guinea pigs (pink-eyed whites) had been joined by six little miniature guinea pigs. Myra says that these little creatures exploded in my life and heart, where they have stayed ever since . This unexpected bonus led Myra to become deeply interested in keeping Cavies (the proper name for guinea pigs) and the fancy . Myra then bought a Peruvian boar, Puff, and has been breeding as showing long-haired cavies ever since. Over the course of her showing career, Myra has won innumerable cups and trophies. Myra has written this small book to share her forty years of experience with new guinea pig owners.
