But when the Soviet Union launch their assault across the Finnish border into the Eastern lands of Karelia, Hannu finds himself suddenly and reluctantly forced to leave his family and beloved craft to enter a very different world. A world where he is often too acutely aware of just how different he is from other soldiers - but also how similar.

L'autore:

Andrew Bramwell was born in Walsall. He was educated at Bluecoat School and St. Martin's College, Lancaster. Since 1982 Andrew has worked as a teacher in a number of schools in the Midlands. A life long fascination and attachment to the history, literature and people of Finland is reflected in much of his work. Karelia is his first full length novel and follows the production of numerous articles, stories, poetry, and most recently the children's book 'The Adventures of Theodore Snowflake' and the radio play 'The Last Deckchair'. Andrew is married with three children and lives in the Midlands.
